Battle of Somme Centenary Overnight Vigil

Posted on: Monday, July 04, 2016

4 Boys and Leaders from 1st Port Seton (Junior Section) recently attended the overnight vigil on the centenary of the Battle of Somme at The Scottish National War Memorial, Edinburgh Castle.

Brodie and Dane were the only young children present.  The Boys paid attention, asked questions and were respectful.  An event I'm sure they will remember forever.

The Battle of the Somme began on 1 July 1916 and did not end until 18 November that year.  There were more than 600,000 British and French casualties in the battle.
