JS Fun Golf Event

14:00North Berwick Childrens Course

The Junior Section Golf Event is back and being held at the new venue of North Berwick Childrens Course.

This event is open to all children within the Junior Section age group with no previous golfing skills needed. 

Please complete the entry form and return to the office by the closing date


Cost £3 per child 

Please ensure each child has a completed consent form before participating in the event.

Beating Retreat

19:30 - 20:30 (New Start Time)Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile

Beating Retreat 

A slight change to the proceedings this time around with an earlier start time set to take place in the hopes that we can get the benefit of the early evening sunshine for the duration of the evening.

The Evening start with the bands holding a short performance at 6.30pm in Parliament Square, which will lead on to the Parade moving upto the Castle Esplande where the Beating Retreat will commence at 7.30pm.

Pitch & Putt

18:15 Bruntsfield Links Short Hole Course

It's the 20th anniversary year of the Company Section Pitch and Putt Event and will be held on Wednesday 16th May 2018 and this time we will be running something a little extra to mark the occassion.

Not only are we inviting our Company Section and Senior members of the Battalion this time around we are also inviting the older generations, (those who played in the event in the past) to come along and participate or spectate during the evening.

Full details are on the forms, but please complete the version that is suitable for your age group and return them to office by the closing date.

Guard of Honour

8.45amSt Giles' Catherdal

The Battalion has again been asked to provide a Guard of Honour for the Lord High Commissioner His Grace the Duke of Buccleuch and Queensberry KT KBE, prior to the Church of Scotland General Assembly worship on Sunday 20 May 2018 at St Giles Cathedral.

Following the inspection, the parade will march back and attend morning sercice at St Andrew's and St George's West Church with refreshments being provided afterwards.

As this is an honour to be invited to and part of we would be delighted for all our Companies to look at participating in this event.

The Guard of Honour Parade participation invite is also open to all Scottish Battalions, with many having joined us in the past.

The athletics event involves Long Jump and Shot Putt for all ages within Company Section, there are also track races which are split into the following groups:-

P7 - S1 - 100m, 200m & 800m

S2 - S3 - 100m, 200m, 800m

S4 - S6 - 100m, 400, 1500m


All those interested in entering please complete an entry form and return it to the office by the set closing date.

Royal Highland Show 2018

8.30am (Thurs/Fri) 7.30am (Sat)Ingliston


Summers here and that brings the Royal Highland Show around, and once again we have been invited to assist with the messenger service on Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd June 2018.

We currently only require 20 members to cover the shifts for each of the 2 days and as this is normally a popular event to volunteer for we will take names on a first come basis with a waiting list there after.

Come rain or shine this is an excellent day out and the perks do include free time to explore and enjoy the show, also included are food vouchers.
